Dear Home Owners
As you know there is an opening at bottom corner of Spartan and South Street that leads to an open field between our neighbourhood and the Golf Course. It has been confirmed that there are approximately 50-100 inhabitants living in holes covered by day in this field next to the river. This results in a constant walk way for these inhabitants and other pedestrians that might include criminals.
Over the past few weeks and in the past, many crimes have been reported (Please see Addendum A), and we have reason to believe that this open area increases opportunities for crimes, especially since it was previously also used as a getaway route from committed crimes (recorded on CC TV Camera).
Herman Geyer, a Home owner in Somerset Street, together with other home owners, has initiated a project to close this open area with a fence. He has already approached the management of the Golf Course and the good news is that they have agreed to sponsor 50% of the costs necessary to complete the project. Herman has received the best quote from “The Weathervane Handy Man” for a total cost of R28 000 excl VAT. The amount of R14 000 has already been paid by the Golf Course into the account of the service provider.
Given that Herman went through the trouble to ensure the sponsorship from the Golf Course, we thought it relevant to approach home owners of this neighbourhood for the remaining R14 000. Therefore we hereby submit a special request that all owners that will benefit from the closure of this area donate a small amount to allow the completion of this project. With a contribution from each of the residents in the surrounding streets, each home owner will only need to contribute a once off amount of R400. In the event that any home owner is able to donate more we will be more than grateful. Any contributions smaller than R400 will also be appreciated. The payments are to be made directly into the Weathervane Handy Man’s account. Please contact RHOA for the details.

Please send proof of payment via fax or email to: 012 345 5931; admin@gustavgous.co.za (Please mention your name and street address in the fax or email)

We will make it our task to communicate with each home owner on the progress of the contributions and the development of the project. Once the project is completed it will also be arranged that security guards watch the fence for two weeks, in order to prevent any violence and vandalism that might occur.
We will be truly grateful for your assistance on this matter.
Yours Sincerely
Herman Geyer
